What Color Is This?
Effective 27 July 2026 · com.arzdrz.whatcoloristhis
The colours you point the camera at never leave your phone. The app does its work on your own device.
This policy covers the mobile app What Color Is This?, published by Akshay CP on Google Play. The app points your camera at anything and tells you the colour, in giant text and out loud.
The colours you point the camera at stay on your device. The app does the work locally, using your phone's own processor and storage. Nothing you create or open is uploaded to me or to anyone else, and I have no way to see it.
The app uses your camera as a live viewfinder so it can read the colour in front of you. Frames are examined on your device, in the moment, only to work out the colour at the centre of the screen, and are then discarded.
There is no shutter button and no capture, save or share feature anywhere in the app — no photo or video is ever produced, so there is nothing to store or send. The camera is also opened with audio switched off, so the app never listens to your microphone.
I do not run a server for this app. There are no accounts, no logins, and no analytics of my own. I do not collect your name, email address, contacts, photos or documents. Nothing you do in the app is reported back to me.
This app is a general-purpose tool and is not directed at children under 13. I do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information, please get in touch and I will look into it.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
Questions about this policy, or about anything the app does, are welcome at contact.akshaycp@gmail.com.
