Customer Book

Your customers’ names, numbers and debts never leave your phone. The app has no internet permission at all, so it could not send them anywhere even if it tried.
This policy covers the mobile app Customer Book, published by Akshay CP on Google Play. The app keeps a book of your customers and what each of them owes you, with a full payment ledger, PDF statements and CSV backup.
The customers, amounts and notes you enter stay on your device. The app does the work locally, using your phone's own processor and storage. Nothing you create or open is uploaded to me or to anyone else, and I have no way to see it.
Anything the app saves is written where you ask it to be written, and any list of recent items exists only on your device. Uninstalling the app removes it.
The app can fill in a new customer from your phonebook, so you don't have to retype a name and number you already have. Android asks your permission at the moment you tap that button, never at launch, and declining leaves every other part of the app working normally.
Your contacts are read on your device and only at that moment. The app copies across only the details of the one contact you pick, into the customer you are creating. It does not scan, index, upload or keep a copy of your address book, and it never writes anything back to it.
You can optionally protect the app with a PIN, and add your fingerprint or face on top of it. This is off until you turn it on.
The PIN is never stored as you typed it. It is stored as a salted SHA-256 hash, stretched over 12,000 rounds, on your device only. Fingerprint and face recognition are handled entirely by Android's own biometric system — the app is told only whether the check passed, and never receives or stores your fingerprint or face data.
Because there is no account and no server, there is no “forgot PIN” recovery and no way for me to unlock the app for you. Keep a CSV backup.
The app can post notifications and reminders on your device. These are generated locally from what you have entered. There is no push server, so nothing is sent to me in order to show them.
This is a paid app. Payment is handled entirely by Google Play at the point of purchase. I never see or store your card details, and the app contains no further purchases and no ads.
I do not run a server for this app. There are no accounts, no logins, and no analytics of my own. I do not collect your name, email address, contacts, photos or documents. Nothing you do in the app is reported back to me.
In this app that is not just a promise about how it is written. The app does not request Android's internet permission at all, which means the operating system itself will not let it open a network connection. There is no analytics library, no crash reporter and no advertising code inside it. You can check this yourself: on your phone, open Settings › Apps › Customer Book › Permissions.
A customer book is largely a list of other people's names, phone numbers and debts. Those people never agreed to anything with me, which is exactly why none of it is sent to me. It stays in the app's private storage on your phone.
Android's own Auto Backup may copy that file into your Google account's backup, encrypted, so a new phone can restore it. That is a service between you and Google under their privacy policy, and I have no access to it. You can turn it off in your device's backup settings. Anything else — a CSV you export and share — goes only where you send it.
Because you hold this data about your customers, you are the one responsible for it. Keeping the phone locked and the app lock switched on is the practical protection.
This app is a general-purpose tool and is not directed at children under 13. I do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information, please get in touch and I will look into it.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
