Contacts to Excel

Your contacts and the files you open never leave your phone. The app does its work on your own device.
This policy covers the mobile app Contacts to Excel, published by Akshay CP on Google Play. The app saves the contacts on your phone as an Excel, CSV or VCF file, and turns a sheet of names and numbers into contacts.
Your contacts and the files you open stay on your device. The app does the work locally, using your phone's own processor and storage. Nothing you create or open is uploaded to me or to anyone else, and I have no way to see it.
Anything the app saves is written where you ask it to be written, and any list of recent items exists only on your device. Uninstalling the app removes it.
When you tap share, the app hands the file it has made to Android's own share sheet and you choose which app receives it. It goes straight from your device to whichever app you pick, and is subject to that app's privacy policy from then on. Nothing is shared unless you tap share and choose a destination.
To make a sheet of your contacts, the app reads the contacts saved on your phone: names, numbers, emails and the other details you choose as columns. This happens entirely on your phone. Your contacts are never uploaded, never sent to me or to anyone else, and never stored by the app apart from the file you ask it to save. Nothing leaves the phone unless you share that file yourself.
The app cannot change or delete your contacts. When you add contacts from a sheet, it makes a contacts file and hands it to your own Contacts app, which asks you before adding anything.
The app can fill in a new customer from your phonebook, so you don't have to retype a name and number you already have. Android asks your permission at the moment you tap that button, never at launch, and declining leaves every other part of the app working normally.
Your contacts are read on your device and only at that moment. The app copies across only the details of the one contact you pick, into the customer you are creating. It does not scan, index, upload or keep a copy of your address book, and it never writes anything back to it.
The free version of the app shows ads supplied by Google AdMob. To serve them, AdMob may access your device's advertising identifier — the Advertising ID — along with general information about your device such as its model, operating system version, language, rough location derived from your IP address, and how you interact with ads.
That information is handled by Google under its own privacy policy, which you can read at policies.google.com/privacy.
On Android, you can reset or delete your Advertising ID at any time in your device settings under Google › Ads.
Making the purchase described below stops ads being shown and stops the advertising identifier being used for advertising in this app.
The app offers a one-time purchase that unlocks its paid features and removes ads. Payments are processed by the store you installed the app from — Google Play Billing. I never see or store your card details. The app only records, on your own device, whether the purchase was made.
I do not run a server for this app. There are no accounts, no logins, and no analytics of my own. I do not collect your name, email address, contacts, photos or documents. The only data leaving your device is what Google AdMob collects to show ads, as described above.
This app is a general-purpose tool and is not directed at children under 13. I do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information, please get in touch and I will look into it.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
